On a gas unit it's often the pilot, thermocouple, or gas valve; on electric it's usually a heating element or thermostat. Sometimes it's a tripped breaker or a failed igniter. We diagnose it the same day and quote the fix before starting.
Repair makes sense for a unit under ~10 years with a fixable part. If the tank itself is leaking, it's old, or the repair is more than about half the cost of a new one, replacement is the smarter money. We give you the honest call.
If it's leaking from the tank body, replace it before it fails fully and floods. If it's a valve or fitting, it's often a repair. Either way, shut off the water supply to the heater and call us.
