A sump pump is only as good as how it's sized and installed. When we install or replace one, we size it to your pit and water volume, choose the right type (submersible or pedestal), set the discharge and check valve correctly, freeze-proof the discharge line, and test it before we leave. Most sump pumps last about 7–10 years; if yours is in that range, replacing it proactively is far cheaper than a flooded basement. We strongly recommend pairing a new primary pump with a battery backup.
